What to export from the flight
- Coverage/as-applied map โ flight track with treated area (and skips/exclusions visible)
- Acres treated (actual, not planned) and total volume applied
- Average rate achieved vs target
- Start/end times and duration
- Exclusion zones honored (buffers around water/sensitive areas)
Most ag flight apps export PDF plus a shapefile/KML; ask the grower which their FMS (Climate, Granular, John Deere Ops) accepts โ handing them a file that drops straight into their records makes you unusually easy to work with.
The one-page report
- Header: farm, field name, date, applicator + license number.
- Product, EPA reg number, rate, total applied.
- Acres treated, coverage map thumbnail.
- Conditions: wind speed/direction, temperature, time window.
- Notes: buffers observed, REI end time, anything the grower must know.
- Your contact line.
Generate the chemical half with our record log and staple the map to it.
Why this wins work
Growers compare custom applicators on trust, and trust is built with evidence. When a neighbor questions a drift complaint, or an agronomist wonders whether the R3 pass really covered the whole field, the operator with maps wins the argument โ and the next contract. It also protects you: coverage data proves what you did and didn't treat.
Deliver it fast
Email the report the same evening, before the grower has a chance to wonder. Keep a copy in your customer folder; at renewal time, a season's worth of reports is the entire sales pitch.
Formats vary by flight app and FMS โ confirm with your platform. Related: recordkeeping requirements, RTK accuracy.
